English as a Second Language (ESL)
The English as a Second Language (ESL) coordinator works with students in small groups, or on an individual basis, giving language-based content support to international students whose first language is not English. Entry and exit tests are administered to each student at the beginning and end of each academic year. As required, a special ESL section for English is created at the necessary grade level.
Professional tutoring is also available. In addition, there are many peer helpers who work with ESL students as peer tutors, study buddies and companions. Close friendships develop from these relationships!
International student applicants are required to have an intermediate level of English knowledge, both written and verbal. Proof of their English ability through standardized test scores will be required.
