College Saint-Charles-Garnier, founded in 1635 by the Jesuits, is the oldest French college of North America. It is a government funded private secondary school for girls and boys aged between 12 and 16. Saint-Charles-Garnier is renowned in Canada for its high educational standards, as well as for its pedagogical and intercultural approach. Our institution is accredited by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), to offer second language immersion programs.
The College is located in the heart of historical Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which takes pride in its hospitality. It is also a very safe city. College Saint-Charles-Garnier offers total immersion in a 98 % French environment. For more than 40 years, the College has been offering language programs in French second language to students and teachers. The College also offers enriched English in its regular high school program as well as English as second language during the summer time in Victoria, B.C.. Students and adult participants who have received linguistic training and courses in the French or English language have benefited from the many cultural and leisurely activities of the regions.
