Choose a study pathway

Start with the qualification and skills you want to gain. Compare the subject, teaching language, delivery format and location before choosing an institution.

University, college, vocational, secondary and language programs serve different goals. A familiar school name does not establish whether a particular campus or program fits your project.

  1. Write down your goal
  2. Compare at least three programs
  3. Check the institution’s own admission pages

Prince Edward Island

Capital City: Charlottetown
Prince Edward Island is renowned for its red soil, sand dunes and 800 kilometres of beaches. It is just 280 kilometres long so it's quite possible to explore every nook and cranny. Close to 140,000 people live in this beautiful province, and about 38 per cent of the population is under 25.

Charlottetown, with a population of 33,000, is the Island's only urban centre. Canadian history is alive and celebrated here. The 1864 Charlottetown Conference was the first meeting that eventually led to the proclamation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867. Because of this meeting, the City of Charlottetown is now known as the "Birthplace of Confederation".

Rich soil and a temperate climate make PEI an ideal place for mixed farming. Half of its land is under cultivation, earning it the nickname, "the Garden Province". In 1997, Prince Edward Island celebrated the official opening of the Confederation Bridge, which, at 12.9-kilometres is the world’s longest bridge spanning ice waters. Confederation Trail, a 300-kilometre-long recreation path, was created along an abandoned railway, and offers a picturesque trail for hiking and biking.
