1. StudyCanada.ca and your information
StudyCanada.ca helps you discover study options in Canada, compare institutions and prepare your plans. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse the site, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter.

2. Information we collect
Enquiries: your first name or name, email address, topic and message; the general contact form also offers an optional country field. This information is used to receive, answer and follow up on your request. It is recorded in a private register on the site's hosting and sent by email to the person handling enquiries.
Newsletter: your email address, language and, when supplied, first name. The register also records the signup page, date, consent text and version, and subscription status.
Browsing and security: technical services may process your IP address, browser, requested pages, referral source, and time of access. Hosting logs are separate from StudyCanada's internal statistics.
Do not send passport numbers, banking information, medical records or identity documents through a general form. Any process requiring sensitive documents must explain separate transmission arrangements.
3. Enquiries and newsletters are separate choices
Contacting StudyCanada does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter. Subscription requires a separate choice. The privacy form on this page does not offer a newsletter subscription.
You can withdraw consent to promotional emails using an email's unsubscribe link or the form below. Unsubscribing does not prevent us from answering your question. Information needed to respect your choice and document consent may be retained.
Forms are addressed to StudyCanada. They do not send your message to a school or university. Any future service involving disclosure to an institution will provide specific information and obtain any required consent.
4. Statistics and browsing preferences
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand viewed pages, traffic sources, devices and approximate locations. Google may use cookies and browser identifiers. The site's configuration disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals; this does not disable audience measurement.
The internal counter uses pseudonymized identifiers calculated from technical data. Its events do not store raw IP addresses. A daily pruning process removes events outside a 90-day window. This period does not apply to hosting logs or data held by Google.
Saved university selections are stored in your browser. Your chosen country section may also be stored for the browsing session to help you return to it. Clearing site data in your browser may remove these preferences.
5. Advertising and cookies
When Google AdSense ads are served, Google and its partners may place or read cookies and use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to serve ads, measure delivery and prevent fraud. Depending on consent, settings and applicable rules, some ads may reflect visits to this site or other sites. Non-personalized ads do not necessarily involve no data processing.
StudyCanada estimates the connection country from the IP address for certain ad-serving rules. The calculation uses a local geographic database and does not transmit your IP address to that database's provider. It does not use GPS location.
You can manage cookies and stored data through your browser settings. Google also provides My Ad Center and an Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking or removing data can affect site preferences.

6. Access, service providers and processing locations
Information is accessible to the people handling enquiries and administering StudyCanada services, and to providers needed for these functions. These include HostGator hosting, email services used to receive and handle enquiries, and Google for its analytics and advertising services.
Some processing may take place outside Québec or Canada, depending on the infrastructure and providers used. The laws of those places may differ from those where you live. You can request details about providers and processing locations through the form below.
Information may also be disclosed when legally required or when a legal exception applies. External sites linked from StudyCanada have their own practices.
7. Retention and protection
Retention depends on the type of information, follow-up on your request, security needs and applicable obligations. Enquiries and follow-up emails are not subject to the internal counter's 90-day pruning process. Consent records and information needed to respect an unsubscribe request may be retained after a subscription ends.
You can request details about retention or ask for deletion. Some information may need to be kept for legal obligations or an ongoing request; the applicable reasons will be explained.
The site uses HTTPS, a request register outside public pages and authenticated access to its management. Forms include protections against automated submissions and limits on attempts. No transmission or computer system can provide absolute security. Incidents are handled under applicable obligations, including notification where legal conditions are met.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable laws, you may request access, correction, withdrawal of consent and, in some circumstances, deletion or transfer of your information in a usable format. Proportionate identity verification may be needed. Do not send identity documents without being asked.

You can also contact the relevant authority, including Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, depending on the circumstances.
9. Young users and changes to services
Young users should avoid sending sensitive information and seek help from a parent or representative when necessary. Applicable consent rules for minors apply to relevant services.
If a new support service, automated assistant or artificial intelligence process uses your personal enquiries, specific information will explain the data, uses and recipients before activation. This policy is not general consent to new uses.
The update date appears at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted; a new purpose requiring consent will not be authorized merely by changing this policy.
