Since August 1995, Athabasca University has been collaborating with Century College to provide undergraduate University courses towards various degree programs in the areas of business, computing and information systems, arts and general studies. Athabasca University is currently offering on-site, classroom-based instruction leading to the following undergraduate degrees at Century College:
-Bachelor of Management
-Bachelor of Commerce
-Bachelor of Arts
-Bachelor of Science
-Bachelor of General Studies
-Bachelor of Administration
All degrees are available on a FAST TRACK program. Students may enroll in up to four courses each semester. Thus, a four-year degree can be completed in ten semesters, and a three-year degree in eight semesters.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Bachelor of Management
This program consists of a three-year general degree program, and a four-year program that allows students to select majors in Marketing or Human Resource Management, and a four-year general program. Other majors are anticipated in the near future. A degree in management will better prepare graduates for the changing business world of today. Graduates will possess the critical thinking, communications, and management skills needed to excel in a variety of work environments. This degree is recommended for students seeking a general three-year degree in business or management.
Bachelor of Commerce
This program prepares students for today’s changing business world and for future challenges. The program meets the demands of this environment by producing graduates who possess sound business and management education, vital communication and computer skills, and the ability to work creatively in a variety of environments. Students will gain a competitive advantage by completing the program.
Bachelor of Arts (Psychology or Information System Major)
This program provides students with a broad, flexible education that allows them to develop, understand, and disseminate knowledge, to think critically, and to build on these abilities. In addition, the four-year degree fully prepares students for graduate studies. A major must be selected when enrolling in the program. Students can select from the following majors: Psychology or Information Systems.
Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Systems
This program is designed for students who wish to be more applications-oriented-the use of computers in business, education, and other applications areas for he processing, utilization, and management of information. Graduates from the program, while still processing the requisite technical skills, will tend to be oriented towards system analysis and design for organizational functions and will interact more with personnel in organizations.
Bachelor of General Studies
This program offers students the freedom to choose courses, to meet their career or educational goals, or to combine their past learning from other institutions into a credential for today. There are no residency requirements so students can combine credits earned at other post-secondary institutions to obtain a degree more quickly.
Bachelor of Administration (General or Management or Organization Major)
This program is designed to provide students with the conceptual, critical and practical knowledge and skills they will need to succeed and advance in the many competitive fields of management and administration today. Since the Bachelor of Management is recommended for students seeking a general three-year degree in business or management, Century College will therefore shift offering the Bachelor of Administration to the Bachelor of Management.
