Founded in 1967 as a college of applied arts and technology with a handful of programs and 400 students, today the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning serves more than 14,000 full time equivalent students at its Davis Campus in Brampton and Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville. Sheridan offers an innovative learning environment celebrated for academic excellence, applied research and creativity. With a student population including students from 40 countries around the world, Sheridan prides itself on having a culture which is both diverse and inclusive. Sheridan's reputation for excellence is due in large measure to the achievements of 78,000 alumni, who contribute in a wide variety of fields, including digital communication, design, performing and visual arts, computing, early childhood education, engineering sciences, allied health, and business. Sheridan delivers quality programming through its five academic schools: - Animation, Arts and Design - Applied Computing and Engineering Sciences - Business - Community and Liberal Studies - Continuing Education and Corporate Training Sheridan’s success is directly related to the quality of faculty, facilities and equipment integral to a successful learning environment. Today, more than 40 per cent of academic programs are delivered in an internet-enhanced environment. Sheridan’s innovation leadership is reflected in the Sheridan Centre for Animation and Emerging Technologies (SCAET), which opened in 2000. Learning opportunities at Sheridan are enhanced by the integration of successes in applied research, led by the Visualization Design Institute and Sheridan Elder Research Centre, as well as a new Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies.

Bachelor of Applied Arts - Animation The Animation programs at Sheridan are known the world over for the creative excellence of our graduates and faculty. The Bachelor of Applied Arts in Animation (BAAA) degree transforms the Animation –Classical diploma previously offered by Sheridan, and joins it with elements of the Computer Animation Post-diploma/degree certificate to provide students with a comprehensive, industry-ready skill set Bachelor of Design This pioneering program represents the first Honours Bachelor of Design degree ever offered in Ontario. The program is jointly offered by the design departments of Sheridan and York University, and blends the expertise and reputations for academic excellence enjoyed by both. The joint program provides a professional education in communication design, taught by experienced faculty. Small studio classes, professional computer facilities and an internship are leading features.
