University, college, vocational, secondary and language programs serve different goals. A familiar school name does not establish whether a particular campus or program fits your project.

Standard 20
Historical record
The original text is preserved below.
If you want to combine your language studies with other activities, the Standard 20 Course is the ideal program for you. During the lessons you will learn communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In the afternoons you can use your new skills on your own or with friends. The LSI Standard 20 Course is clearly structured to ensure that you make consistent and rapid progress. During the language practice lessons, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation are reviewed. This provides the essential foundation needed to communicate effectively. The skills practice lessons build on the language acquired during language practice. Emphasis is placed on the following:
Speaking: using a wide variety of activities such as role-plays and pair work you will improve your fluency and your self-confidence.
Listening: Listening to and understanding the language is achieved through a variety of pre-recorded authentic situations of everyday life. Understanding is the key to self-confidence in language learning.
Reading: Using a range of newspapers, magazines and articles you will develop your close reading and skim reading comprehension.
Writing: You will be asked to make notes and record your own observations. These notes will form the basis of much of the work in discussions groups. Writing will help consolidate your language learning.

The Intensive 30 has the same lessons as those described in the LSI Standard 20 course. The afternoon classes further intensify the tuition and consolidate what you have learnt, through fluency practice and a comprehensive review of the culture and customs of your host country.
The LSI Intensive 30 Course will ensure that you not only increase your fluency and language skills but is designed to meet your specific language needs by offering a choice of afternoon classes. If you work in business or are planning a career, you will be advised to take the LSI Business class in the afternoon. If you want to study at a University or at a College, we provide a TOEFL Preparation class in the afternoon. In addition to these specific classes, we offer varied and exciting topics to study in the afternoon conversation classes, which cover a wide range of topics, projects and visits which will involve you in the culture of your host country. This part of the course is not only good fun but is an important step in helping you become familiar with everyday social language.
At LSI we promise you will live and learn the language in ways that are not possible unless you visit the country where the language is spoken.

Cambridge Exam Preparation Course (FCE & CAE)
Historical record
The original text is preserved below.
The Cambridge First Certificate in English is the most popular of the Cambridge examinations, and can lead to new opportunities professionally and in further education. Our courses are designed to prepare you for all 5 parts of the examination (reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar), and to let you sit the exam with confidence.
The Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English is intended for people who have a good knowledge of English and who need to use the language at work. In this examination practical use of language is stressed, such as skim reading reports for important information, writing memos for colleagues, or more formal business correspondence. The CAE is the Cambridge Certificate, which has developed the fastest, and is already accepted in many countries as proof of an advanced level of competence in English. Many of those who have passed the examination see it as a foundation for further language studies, training programs or professional opportunities. We offer the FCE & CAE with 20 or 30 lessons per week. The Cambridge Examinations take place during the last week of your course during which there is no formal tuition.

Historical record

The LSI Mini Group is perfect for young and mature professionals, executives and other highly motivated people who wish to participate in a small intensive mini-group (maximum 6 participants). The course combines general grammar and skills development with an in-depth focus on the language of business. Effective communication plays a key part throughout your course.
On the first morning of your course we will conduct a detailed needs analysis and make sure you are placed in an appropriate group. With your fellow mini-group members, you will follow a carefully designed course plan to develop general and specific communication skills, such as English for meetings, negotiations, presentations and lectures, telephoning, business correspondence, faxes, reports and memos. Intercultural awareness plays an important role in understanding the nature of global business and communication and the international mix of our courses provides the perfect forum to gain this valuable knowledge.
Should you need help with specific skills areas, such as writing, we can arrange additional individual lessons to complement your group learning.
The Mini-Group consists of 40 lessons per week.
