Dear Student At the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) there is a two-year diploma program offered that begins in fall for those students interested in Engineering with an aerodynamic twist. Focus Program of the Month- February 2004
This particular program offers courses that include teachings in aircraft electrical systems, helicopters introduction, aircraft gas turbine theory, aerodynamics, human factors, and several others. For this core program, class time is split 60/40 between practical and theoretical courses, where each of the two years is 32 weeks in duration. The curriculum is based on Transport Canada and Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council curriculums, local advisory committee recommendations and SAIT requirements.
The program prepares graduates for career opportunities in all areas of the aviation industry including fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, engine and component overhaul, aircraft heavy maintenance and general, commercial and corporate aviation.
SAIT’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Technology program is one of the best equipped in North America. In this field, graduates find work as aircraft maintenance technicians leading to an A.M.E. license.
This program is so impressive, that in 2001 alone, 95% of our graduates were employed within one year, and their starting salary ranged from $23, 900-48,000 per year!

University of Alberta
The University of Alberta is situated in the heart of Alberta’s capital city: Edmonton. University of Lethbridge
The University of Lethbridge is located on 457 acres in west Lethbridge, in Alberta’s third largest city. Its many green areas and parks, and its abundant cultural and recreational facilities characterize Lethbridge. It is located in southern Alberta, approximately 145 km’s east of the Canadian Rockies, and 95 km’s north of the United States border. The campus in itself has received international acclaim for its architectural originality and functional design, designed by architect Arthur Erickson.
When you begin classes at the U of L, you’ll find a personal atmosphere that invites you to feel at home. You’ll have numerous opportunities to get off to a good start. Integrated Programs in the faculties of Arts and Science let you custom design your own degree through the Integrated Science Program (ISP) or Interdisciplinary Studies (IDST) BA Program
If you are enrolled in the faculties of Arts, Science, Applied Science or Forestry, or in the Schools of Human Kinetics or Music, you can do an Interdisciplinary Minor in another faculty. You can also choose a Double Major in Arts and Science, or a dual degree Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering).
In Agricultural Sciences, the Global Resource Systems program lets you study science in a different part of the world. You will learn about agricultural and natural resource systems from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. In the Faculty of Forestry's Natural Resources Conservation program you will learn about forest biology, wildlife ecology, aquatic ecosystems, geographic information systems, resource economics and land use planning.
The Integrated Engineering program addresses the growing industry need for engineers with a broad engineering education. Rather than earning a degree in only one specific area of engineering, you will learn many different core disciplines, then apply them in design project courses.
UBC's link with India has been integral to the development of the Universities Asian Studies program. UBC also has a very active alumni chapter in India.
