Samira Siahrostami (SFU) elected to the Royal Society of Canada College

SFU chemistry associate professor Samira Siahrostami, a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair, was elected to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists for her work in computational chemistry applied to electrochemical materials.

Samira Siahrostami of Simon Fraser University has been named to the Royal Society of Canada College. As a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair and computational chemist, she combines quantum mechanical simulations, computational modeling and data-driven methods to study and improve materials for electrochemical technologies. Her research targets more efficient and sustainable energy solutions by optimizing material performance at the atomic and molecular scale. The election recognizes her leadership at mid‑career and highlights SFU’s strengths in materials science and clean energy research.
