Olivia Bouffard‑Nesbitt, 34 and a former Olympic cross‑country skier, joined UQAM’s cross‑country team and started a bachelor’s in sociology in fall 2026.

In her first university cross‑country race on September 12, Olivia Bouffard‑Nesbitt finished 5th among about 100 runners. The 34‑year‑old competed for Canada at Beijing 2022 (four events; best result: 9th in the women’s relay) and at Milan‑Cortina in February 2026. Having retired from high‑level competition this winter, she enrolled at UQAM to improve her French, reconnect with Quebec culture and prepare for work in nature‑based social programs. She highlights finding team spirit again within the university setting.
